Ipswich - Felixstowe Most Punctual Service

Most Punctual Service

Over the last six months more 90 percent of Greater Anglia trains have arrived on time; in the past few months some lines have seen record-breaking on-time performance.

Ipswich - Felixstowe Most Punctual

Across the entire Greater Anglia network for the four weeks to 20 July the most punctual route was Ipswich - Felixstowe at 95.5%. The new loop at Trimley and brand new signalling system now in place on the line were not just designed to accommodate more freight trains but also provide for a more punctual and reliable passenger service.

Marks Tey-Sudbury followed ever so closely with 95.4 percent of trains arriving on time; Norwich-Great Yarmouth trains achieved an on-time performance figure of 94.6 percent; Norwich-Lowestoft recorded a figure of 94.5 percent and London-Harwich 94.1 percent.

During the four months March to June a record-breaking 94.7% was achieved on the Great East Mainline between Norwich and London.

Meliha Duymaz, route managing director for Network Rail Anglia, said: “We know that every second counts for our passengers, which is why we’re spending an additional £10m on a range of measures to improve punctuality, including removing as many long-standing speed restrictions as we can, preventing incidents, but reacting swiftly when they do occur. “While there has been some recent good performance, we know we need to consistently deliver more trains on time. That’s why we will continue to work tirelessly with Greater Anglia to improve reliability and make journeys better for everyone.”
